Do you mean that the society has a figure that it charges per publisher? I dont understand this.

What is the purpose of this?

How do they arrive at the arbitrary figures?

What about the costs of the assembly?

Who pays that?

Who actually owns the bldgs. where the 97,000 congregations meet around the world?

do you mind if i may ask, have you ever read ray franz book? the reason i ask is he goes into issues and matters that the avg jw would never know due to not having access to body of elders letters, meeting with co and do, etc- one of the first things i did was confirm the ref he provide, it was very interesting

yes I have read all his books. I enjoy his books. He is quite a mild mannered man. What type of questions did you pose that got you in trouble? Are you still a member or are you df'ed? Or did you just drift out to sea like me? I'll tell you something which I believe you might concur with. Since many of the jw's that took the doctrines to heart have left I believe you may see a blander org where its members wont be so inquisitive to know things or get to the essence. Also since the annointed at the GB will disappear the strength that the org had for all intensive purposes will vanish. Basically from now on in you'll just have a rehash of the recent past without any major moves. The Franz figures I believe will be a thing of the past. Your opinion pls. JT. Yes also JT how do you think the org will be able to defend itself against its greatest disaster ( child molestation suit)? I was talking to my father (active gung ho witness for over 40 years) about his opinions from what he sees. He told me he just sees the brothers going thru the motions. Kind of like catholics at mass. That generation change really shook things up.

BTW, JT did you know Rene Vazquez at Bethel? What became of him? Also did you know Malenfant at Bethel? What became of him also?

they are only interested in the issue in so far as they can use it to promote white anti-witness propaganda, whereas a high percentage of loyal witnesses are black.

i know that all the terms of my topic are debatable: apostacy is a witness term of derogation; apostates probably are mostly liberal and not racist (essentially); and they are not a 'movement' in any case.

You would be the only one I never met. SBF is right on the money. The apostate movement was begun by whites and its ranks are mostly white. By and large hispanics and blacks could care less about doctrinal discrepancies. Somwthing they told me themselves. They are less apt to question theology and when faced with contradictions they just shrug it off.

Many hispanics have told me that why is the child molestation such a problem amongst americans. Here I'm speaking about the USA in general not the org. They (hispanics) have told me that hardly occurs amongst latinos here in the USA and in latin america. I didn't have an answer for him.

However, many on this board, myself included, were pioneers, servants, elders, bethelites, etc. So we invested a lot into the organization only to find out that much of what we were taught was false.

Yeah, Amac if you invested alot and lost everything it is disastrous. It's like those folks at Enron who after 30 years of work saw their retirements go into the sea.

Smelly Onions is one of those dubs on the fence who has lived a sheltered life with only JW ideology penetrating his small mind.

not true, i have read plenty of literature condemning the jw's. if i would have suffered deeply like some here i cprobably would have hated an org which turned its back on me. just that hatred is understandable but must be watched. i do realize that those r more forgiving than others i have read here who's anger is indeed scary and dangerous. when one becomes so obsessed and consumed with ones hate by which it covers one's whole life and thoughts that is indeed a recipe for a disaster. to get ideas of harming bodily others bc of religious ideals is the end result of so many years of hate. and to think about thse grave errors from the inside of a prison cell is a sad end to years off spite. to vent, to let go is understandable but the rest is truly sad.

when will u all let go of this anger? when will it ever end?

The Catholic Church occupies a very significant position in the world and claims to be the way of salvation for hundreds of millions of people. Any organization that assumes that position should be willing to submit to scrutiny and criticism."

I gree fully my simple Sir. the wt should be held under the same scrutiny. i even think they should tell all its members of the silent lamb fiasco and turn in those child molesters to the proper authorities. the problem i see is that then the wt would have to admit that former disgruntled members and apostates changed church policy, something i dont see humans doing in any org. yes to keep the model of perfection is a terrible weight to bear. and yes they have kept this image for years, decades etc, it maybe that these lawsuits will put a crack in that dam and the whole house of cards might fall. but if the catholics who have burned people at the stake by the millions during the inquisition still has billion members then i dont think the org will just disappear either. i would love to see that debacle of the org and its results though, just out of curiousity for its effect and because all things should come out. nothing should be hidden so i am with you on this one.

this goes out to the guy who asked me abut df thing whether i was for it or against it.

what i have noticed about the disfellowshipping thing is that in the western and midwest states its taken as such a serious thing. i have travelled frequently to the carribean aand down there they dont even really listen to that. family members talks to df'ed members and the society is consttaantly giving tlaks about this but few listen. also the sisters by far and large marry outsiders but since its so widespread nobody looks at it so horribly like in the states. they are quite the relaxed kind down there.

Sith sounds like all his comments are full of anger and hate. Oh weell I guess leaving the truth for him has been pure sadness and unhapiness. Many other posts here are full of the same vitriolic. THat i'm brainwashed blah, blah, blah. yeah right. for the vast majority there is no brainashing. people r there cuz they want to be. nobody is forced much less now. of course i'm not directing these comments to those who have sufffered deeply. but obviously there r many here who haven't been raped, molested etc and just are angry spiteful little pitiful people who are just plain angry at life. i apologized for the mistakes in my OP but they haven't apologized for their ranting and raving lunatic anger. i can understand children who have suffered physically as a result but not some crybaby who is complaining bc he says he couldn't celebrate x-mas. gimme a break, if that's ur version of xtreme suffering you've had a merry go round life too.

people saying bc they didn't celebrate birthdays they r scarred for life. don't think for 1 second that nonsense compares to a child being molested, raped, murdered and the family suffering. being shunned by family is horrible but its not in the same league with the aforementioned. if u think ur suffering bc u didn't get a postcard on halloween is comparable to molestation ur delusional. that only belittles those tragedies as of no value.

as for those silly comments of the brothers only thinking about themselves when crunch time came or monetary difficulties arose well we all know that u gotta pull ur own weight. obviously at the end of the day u can only depend on yourself.

but hey i dont have any hard feelings toward any here, i love ALMOST everyone truly.

There are WAY too many guys like you in that cult.

i haven't even bee to a memorial in 5 years. jw's only count as memebers those who actively engage in the preaching work. so what's ur point? yes i know there are many problems but for the majority it isn't hell. but like i said there are no excuses for molestation, abuse of any form, torture, beatings, murder, suicide, htared, shunning of family members. i'm with you on these things.
